EN 388:2016+A1:2018
Document EN 388:2016+A1:2018 Protective gloves against mechanical risks is a normative document that specifies the material and construction requirements for electrostatic dissipative protective clothing. It is a harmonized standard since March 5, 2021, as stated in the Official Journal of the European Union OJ L 156 - 19/05/2020.
The presumption of conformity with the essential health and safety requirements set out in Union harmonization legislation for the previous version of the standard:
- EN 388:2016 Protective gloves against mechanical risks
expires on November 19th, 2021.
EN 388:2016+A1:2018 Protective gloves against mechanical risks specifies:
- requirements,
- test methods,
- marking and
- information to be supplied for protective gloves against the mechanical risks of abrasion, blade cut, tear, puncture and, if applicable, impact.
This standard is intended to be used in conjunction with EN 420. The test methods developed in this standard may also be applicable to arm protectors.
NOTE
The standard EN 420:2003+A1:2009 Protective gloves - General requirements and test methods has the status of a harmonized standard (OJ C 113 - 27/03/2018).
This standard has been replaced by EN ISO 21420:2020, which currently does not have the status of a harmonized standard.
